چکیده
Davis, J.F. and G. Katz, Equivariant semicharacteristics and induction, Topology and its Applications 51 (1993) 41-52. The paper defines a semicharacteristic bordism invariant for manifolds equipped with an action of a finite group with specified isotropy. Induction results and the Burnside ring are applied to give homological restrictions on some group actions on odd-dimensional manifolds.

Ring structures of mod p equivariant cohomology rings and ring homomorphisms between them
In this paper, we consider a class of connected oriented (with respect to Z/p) closed G-manifolds with a non-empty finite fixed point set, each of which is G-equivariantly formal, where G = Z/p and p is an odd prime. Using localization theorem and equivariant index, we give an explicit description of the mod p equivariant cohomology ring of such a G-manifold in terms of algebra. This makes ...
متن کاملInduction Functor in Non-commutative Equivariant Cohomology and Dirac Cohomology
The aim of this paper is to put some recent results of HuangPandz̆ić (conjectured by Vogan) and Kostant on Dirac cohomology in a broader perspective. This is achieved by introducing an induction functor in the noncommutative equivariant cohomology. In this context, the results of Huang-Pandz̆ić and Kostant are interpreted as special cases (corresponding to the manifold being a point) of more gene...
متن کاملChange of universe functors in equivariant stable homotopy theory
One striking difference between nonequivariant and equivariant stable homotopy is that, in the equivariant context, one must specify those representations with respect to which spectra are to be stable. One may specify stability with respect only to trivial representations (thereby obtaining what is often called the naive equivariant stable category), with respect to all representations (thereb...
متن کاملIndependence of an Equivariant and Invariant Functions in Generalized Normal Family
In this paper we explain a necessary and sufficent condition for independence between any arbitrary statistics with sufficient statistics which is also maximum likelihood estimator in a general exponential family with location and scale parameter namely generalized normal distribution. At the end, it is shown that the converse is true except in the asymptotic cases.
متن کاملInduction of Hamiltonian Poisson actions
We propose a Poisson-Lie analog of the symplectic induction procedure, using an appropriate Poisson generalization of the reduction of symplectic manifolds with symmetry. Having as basic tools the equivariant momentum maps of Poisson actions, the double group of a Poisson-Lie group and the reduction of Poisson manifolds with symmetry, we show how one can induce a Poisson action admitting an equ...
